Funding Fee
  • The way I understand it is that the funding fee can be charged upfront like mortgage insurance. It is rolled into the loan on the front end. But it is not an ongoing fee. Realtors should look at each situation individually. If a veteran has down payment monies and a good credit score, they may opt for a conventional loan to avoid the funding fee. Va financing is good especially if the veteran does not have down payment.
